The Woman Behind Antique Remedies

Outside of Cuenca, Ecuador
I'm an aspiring herbalist who is just embarking on my herbal remedy enterprise. I've always loved tea. I believe that love was passed down from my mother.  As I started visiting my local natural grocery store, I started investigating their large selection of bulk herbs and spices. That's when I started experimenting! As the years passed, I started expanding my use of herbs past tea and into salves, oils, bath salts, lip balms and other herbal goodies. I find more recipes, and create more ideas, every day.

I want to use this blog as a sort of 'public journal' of my herbal journey. I'm learning as I go along and look forward to sharing with others. I must admit, I haven't tried every herbal remedy in the world, of course, or all the ones of my blog. I promise to make sure and mention if I have tried the remedy.

The purpose of this blog, besides documentation for my all my experiments & research, is to help people think outside the herbal box. Nature is amazing. Plants have many uses - especially herbs. I'd like to share the knowledge I gain  from books, websites and other articles, with people who are interested in going beyond just the spice rack in their kitchen.

On a personal note, I've always found magic and peace in nature. I love being outside - hiking, walking, and my new found love (besides herbs) is hooping. Maybe I can find some way to connect herbs and hooping in a blog post! Plus, I have a big dog named Dr. Raj Koothrapali, who I adore, as long as he doesn't eat my shoes or my furniture!
